When I pull up to a non-HARLEY
Some probably wish they had the funds to own an H-D, but it is just not in the cards. Makes me no better or worse than them.
Live and let live.
it wasnt until my riding style, riding buddies and age changed. i slowed down, hung out with more/different friends- and quite honestly- became convinced that HD's are just as good (mechanically) as metrics when i started riding Road King's at work.
the more interest i expressed in them- the more i wanted one.... then my wife went and bought me an 06 RK Classic

so- it doesnt matter to me what you ride, what color you are or where youre going... a motorcyclist is a motorcyclist.
and- the vast majority of metric riders CAN afford to buy a HD, they just choose not to!
I dont know about everyone else but what is your first thought when you pull up to a stop light next to a non HARLEY?? Now I know there are some very nice? bikes out there, but my brain just thinks WHY?
Or... maybe the guy is just like you... he loves riding and always has... he's had many bikes over the years (including Harley's) and took a break from the sport to put his 3 kids through college. Then his wife gets cancer, can't work, medical bills adding up, she has about 6 months to live.... who knows. She says "Honey, I know you love to ride, you do so much for me and the family, why not just go out and get some kind of bike so you can enjoy yourself every once in awhile".
It's about the ride... .if you have that much of an ego, why didn't you buy a Hyabusa? By the way, the example above is true. I know that guy, I ride with that guy, and you should be ashamed.
Next time I see some blonde snooty B***ch in a $100,000 Mercedes looking down at me in my Jeep, I'll think of this post.
