Default Fairing lowers.

Anyone ever add on factory fairing lowers? I'd like to get some, but they're not cheap. Color matched are around 600 or 700 hundred bucks (here in canada).

Wondering if there are reasonable aftermarket ones. I'm not interested in soft lowers.

I bought the HD color matched vented ones for 20% off. They took two weeks to get here and 30 minutes to install. They really help in the cold or rain.

No info on aftermarket lowers, but a few years back I picked up a pair of take off lowers that were the same color as my '01 EGC from E-bay. They came with caps but no mounting hardware. Got the hadware from local HD. I can't remember the exact prices but hardware was under $20.00 and all toll around $200.00. Then found a set of glove boxes to finish them off, approx $150.00. Took awhile to find the lowers but it can be done.

I got mine from Zanotti's for $493 two years ago, although I'm sure they're a bit higher now. Unless you can find used ones in your color, I would imagine buying new from an on-line outfit like Zanotti's or Chicago will be your best deal. Buying used in another color may cost more in the long run after re-painting is done. Some have said good things about aftermarket lowers, but those would still require a paint job.

HERE's a thread discussing the knock off Chinese ones that are identical to the HD ones

and HERE's another thread about the same ones.

IIRC, there was an outfit selling them on ebay. Not sure if they still are or not.

Got a set of unpainted Harley lowers and had them painted by a local painter. Saved about Can$200 that way. Was not too worried about a perfect job since I only use them during the 6 months of good sleding

Can find good used ones on ebay if have the patience even though nothing was wrong with mine Bid 100.00 on a set that appeared near new in the pics got sniped at the end and sold for $159.00 .. Well color Matched is nice, Have seen a couple of other colors with Vivid Black ones ( the most common ) and didn't look all that bad unless a stickler for perfection ..

I have them on my Street Glide and Road King use them year around hee in So Cal. Very Hot or Very Coldthey work.

I bought one set on the the board and one set on ebay. A little pateince they alway show up.

I also use the quick disconnect, It is debatable whether they are worth the money, but to me it saves the hassle when cleaning.

After considering the cost of paint (even the black ones from Fairing Factory or whatever it was don't match), I just went with the HD lowers.
