I had the quick Detach on my last bike. I left the Tour Pac on most of the time as my wife is with me 90% of the time and riding two up the Pac is handy.
I'm just going to leave the Tour Pac on my cuurent ride.
Mine is an 09 Police Electra Glide. Im like you in that I like the SG look but prefer the more traditional driving light look. So far I have lowered mine front and back added a 6inch black windscreen, antenna in the fairing and have the quick detach hardware. I switch between a solo seat and and Ultra seat for two up or long trips and have a sissy bar and luggage rack as well. I also added the SG mirrors they come with a template and its a pretty easy install. I like it better than a SG besides everyone has a Streetglide right?
You should hold on to your tour pac, don't sell it.You might want it for some longer trips.Mine is off 99% of the time, but it is good for the long trip once a yr.
Also if you ever want to seel it. It will bring bore if you have all the Ultra parts.
There is more to it but it is easier and cheaper to go from a EGC or Ultra to a SG than it is to go from a SG to an EGC or Ultra. It is far too easy to swap out some parts at swap meets than to not have them at all and have to buy them. Buy a trunk to match as well as mounting hardware and see how much it runs you.
