Looking to doing something different with the license plate on the back of a FLHX. What's my options other than the Kuryakyn mount?

Couple of companies, RWD being one, make french boxes.

 

You could go with a mounting plate from softbrake and get a laydown lamp with an underside light from J&P.

I don't like the small Turn Signals on my Road Glide. I found the ones on the '09 and later Road King that has the License Plate under the Bar is shorter than the '08 and earlier ones. Plus I didn't like the "Bump Out" that had the lights for the Licence Plate lights. I looked around and found I had an earlier one in my junk box. I didn't need to buy another one.

I made the Plate mount out of sheet metal that mounts to the Turn Signal Bar bolts. I used Kuryakyn LED bolts to light the plate. I think it looks great. It only cost me about $15.
