Wax. Old fashioned paste car wax. For storage, spray all the chrome down with that orange cleaner stuff. It will also remove any rust on that top grade HD chrome they use on their fasteners.
Not sure, but don't see why S100 Corrosion Protectant wouldn't work. I've used it on the metal parts (non chrome) that were showing a little rust on an old bike. Seemed to stop the problem.
As far as cleaning rust off...I've been surprised how well Turtle Wax chrome polish and rust remover works. Cheap and good...
Keep it clean and dry. For rust to form you need three things, metal, water, and air. Cut out one of the three and you will not have any problems with rust.

That would be fine if the weather would cooprerate. But when it rains I try to dry it but water sets on areas you can't get to easy.

I've been using S100 Corrosion Protection for years. BTW, the Corrosion Protection does better/lasts longer on black engine parts than SS's Engine Bright
