NEW CHANGES BUSHING less CAM PATE AND CONNECTING RODS
Now what sense does this make not to have bushings there now its straight metal to metal are they just making throw away motors on the new bikes or am i missing something!!!!
True, and as long as you have decent oil pressure and enough oil in the motor the metals never touch each other they are divided by the film of oil, just like berings in needle or roller berings actually float on a film of oil.

We have been producing overhead cam engines where the hardened steel camshafts ride in the soft aluminum for 6 years now. But the oil has dropped to a 5W20 because of this. And OCV controls to let you know when oil pressure drops. I just wish harley had better oil control with this design.
Add to that everyone wanting to go bigger with more power and things might start getting messy. The days of throwing in a bigger cam (higher lift) will induce more stress on the cams because you also need to go with heavier springs. Higher oil pressure would be my thought if building again and can new bushings be retro fitted? But, that would block the oil hole. This is just one more reason I stayed with the 96" instead of buying the 103". I already did the comp change and that's it for the motor, I'm done.
