Plastic butter knife gets 95% of it off easily. A little oven cleaner or elbow grease on the rest. Polish & go.

+1 on easy off oven clean (yellow can I think is Heavy Duty)

Had a plastic shopping bag fly into my path. Could not avoid it. Melted right on to the pipes. I peeled the bag off and I could read the mirror image on the pipes. Rode the bike to a local store to heat up the pipes. Purchased Easy Off oven cleaner.

Worked great!

That's great advice I've seen the mist from easy off damage paint as well as aluminum parts (motor fins and such).

Spray the easy off on the rag or in a glass jar and paint it on with a brush. Let it sit for a bit.

THEN run the bike and heat up the pipes

The crap should wipe right off........what's left behind can be lifted off with a razor blade.

Never had an issue with this method.

I know this works on Rineharts. Can't guarantee on any other chrome. But I hear you guys taking about this problem all the time. And here is what I do. I take some fine steel wool 0000 and rub the spot, it takes any thing like boots, gloves, what ever off in just a few seconds. Usually do it cold. But as I said I have Rineharts. Maybe the chrome is better on them, but I doubt it. It never makes even the slightest mark in the chrome. Works great for me and I'm super picky. Wouldn't be doing it if it scratched.

I wouldn't even think of using oven cleaner. I used that on a motor when I was flying RC airplanes and just ruined it. Turned it black. But to each his own. Steel wool is way easier.

I've tried everything listed over the years... and nothing has worked better on my cars, trucks, house, bike, etc... than the MR CLEAN MAGIC ERASER!

Try the magic eraser. You will forget all about steel wool. oven cleaner, razor blades and all that other crazy bullshit. It works like a charm and it's easy.
