I just purchased a 2011 Electra Glide Classic. I was just wondering if any of you folks winterized your bike. All the bikes I have had in the past I would just start them up a couple times througtout the winter and let them warm up. Thanks
a little stabil in the tank and ALWAYS on the battery tender, some will cover, if u do use a sheet anything plastic will trap condesation.make sure theres no pool chemicals in the garage it will eat chrome fast.
IF I was going to winterize my bike, I'd put fresh fluids in it, stabilizer in a full tank of fuel, put the battery tender on it and not touch it until it's time to ride in the spring. I've always been taught and believe that starting a motor (any motor) and idling it does more harm than good. You are letting moisture blow by the rings at idle and even though you may think you are getting it warm enough to burn off, you aren't. Even if you were, moisture is still getting by the rings and in to the cases at idle.
fresh oil in all holes, stabil and full tank of gas, put it on a battery tender and cover it up. I don't start it till I'm gonna ride it, usually sometime in March.
same here, stabilizer, battery tender. dont worry about fluids until i would do them anyway. if i were to cover it, i would use a couple of cotton sheets. wish i didnt even have to think about winterizing.

But that's just me. Everybody has an opinion.
My thoughts exactly
I rarely ride the 'Train in the winter, I ride the Limited at least once a week. Neither one gets winterized, they just go on the battery tender. There's no need to do anything else. Do not start the bike unless you plan to ride it for at least half an hour to get everything up to operating temperature.
I've never used Stabil, and I don't even own a Battery Tender. In the winter months I just ride it a couple of times per week. A ride anywhere from 2 hours to 2 days. This helps keep the battery charged and the gas fresh.
