Default question about power commander

I have a 2005 road king with se air cleaner and vance and hines ovals , do not know if ecm is stock or stage 1, pc has map for both,
dealer wants 70.00 to tell me or 42.00 to install a new pc , my dealer charges 377.95 for the pc , but they will set the throttle ? and down load the correct map. right know the bike runs lean and pops some. I bought the bike used from another dealer I might try
and see if they will give me the old owners name and number
Any advice would be a great help .

There's always the option of the TFIor DFO for $159 that will richen the mixture up with minimal work.

Here's a video of the install http://www.dobeckperformance.com/dfo/

Do you have a tach? You can save the $70 by getting your engine up to the rev limiter. If you have a stock ECM, then the limit is 5,500. If you already have the stage 1 ECM download you can get to 6,200.

Vance / Hanes Power Pak is what my dealers is using.
I use the Power commander, the bike runs perfect. (2004 Road Glide)

I think the HD stage one raises the rev limiter to 6200 rpm.
Stock is 5500 rpm. Check it.

The bike running like **** with the HD stage one is common.

Get ahold of Jamie at fuel/moto.com, he sell's the PCIII for $270 shipped and he sets it up for you, gives you an extra year warranty and all the tech you need. A 10year old could install it.

Besides, even if u put in the wrong map, it will simply run too rich, which in reality will make it run much cooler, and eat more fuel than needed. Id' say order it yourself, Try the more conservative map 1st (the one for the stock ECM) and ride for a few hours. Then try the stage 1 map, and see how that suits ya. Won't hurt the bike either way.

I do believe that the later model PCIII's can also increase the rev limit as well...

Yes, definatlly call Jamie and just tell him your situation. I'm sure he can help you out. He was right on with my bike. Under three hundred after tax and it runs great. Save your money and try Fuelmoto. Good luck
