I just ordered a set for my Road Glide. They didn't even have a set for a Road Glide. Bob, the owner, is a super nice guy. He was told that the engine guards are the same for the Road King and Road Glide. Technically they are but the R/G has the fairing brackets. He had me measure from outside to outside on the brackets and then he made a set for the R/G. I wll post an update when I get them installed.
Looks are subjective. Kinda like the R/G fairing. Some like it, some don't. It's alot cheaper than Harley gets for their lower fairings. I had the soft lowers that Harley makes, poor quality and cheap looks. I hope these are better.
On a side note, why does it seems we get better customer service from Canadian venders. Pez is the best and it seems that Bob from airlite is just as good.
A friend of mine ordered a set for his Kawasaki Nomad, I'll see what they look like next week. He was pretty happy with the company's customer service. I think it looks like a pretty clean installation. My thoughts are it would make my cold weather rides a bit more comfortable. I'd like to see a picture of it installed on your RG.
I ran the Harley soft lowers last winter. Snaps pulled out twice when I removed them and they look cheap. The one Harley makes for the Road King and other FLHs look 10 times better than the ones for the FLTR. If there wasn't snow, ice, or rain, I rode. 20* is my limit when riding about 50 miles one way to work. Wore a snowmobile suit and the soft lowers help alot. The only thing that got cold was my thighs because the wind coming off the bottom of the fairing getsforced on the gap between the fairing and the engine guards and it blows right across the thighs.
These look pretty nice. On their web site they have ones for Road Kings, Electraglides and Road Glides. If I wanted a set for my Street Glide which would be the best fit? I've been debating getting a set of after market vinyl ones or the canvas HD ones. HAs anyone had experience with both? How effective are the canvas ones vs. the vinyl ones? Thanks.
I have the HD logo soft lowers on my EG Classic. $60 and have quick disconnects. Work great. Have openings on the side for pegs. Keep the wind away. Keep your feet dry in the rain. Think I'll keep them until I can afford $600 lowers.
