GPS Mount?
What's the best way to mount my TomTom? Will the suction cup stick to the inside of the windshield or the fuel door? I don't want to spend a ton on an aftermarket mounting system.
Thanks!
Thanks!
My Tom Tom came with a handlebar mount. If I were going to use a suction cup I would be leery of putting it on the windshield, I know some of my friends mount it on the gas tank cover with no problems.
It will stick to the fuel door, but not sure how well it will stay.
I doubt it will stay on the windshield for very long.
One place it will stick very well though, is the glass speedometer face.
My GPS has the speed displayed on the screen, so I don't really need to look at the speedometer.
Also, it's at the perfect viewing angle mounted there.

It replaces your fuel door. Looks pretty slick

Fuel door will work, I however had mine mounted to the tach glass for 6000 miles on a trip last August. Worked like a champ. Sure you loose the tach but I shift by ear so wasn't a problem.

I’ve used the fuel door, but it’s a pain at fuel up’s. I’ve also used the Speedo glass; I like this because it keeps the GPS up closer to your vision. The suction cup mount has always made me nervous that my GPS will fall off some day, so I finally bought a handlebar RAM mount.
I wouldn't trust a suction cup. You can't go wrong with a Ram Mount. They have so many attachments and accessories that you can carry anything from an IPOD to a laptop computer on your handlebars. And they're all compatible--for instance, your GPS mount can be used to mount a drink holder.
