Just ordered the 4 pt. docking hardware kit, is this easy to put on by yourself? Any lil tricks one might add to help me when the part arrives. Thanks in advance!
It is straightforward enough. Search some threads on here though. I had some issues, and others have as well, with the tolerance on the bushes. In my case the bushes were too big and the pack wouldn't click on, others have complained of a sloppy fit.
If I were doing it again I would mount the kit to the bike first and then check this with the rack BEFORE fixing to the tourpak - much easier to handle and line up
Install is easy. Only problem I had was not realizing the front mount for the backrest was so far forward and kind of hidden by the seat. Mine is a Street Glide and I like the ease of removing the backrest and luggage rack overnight if I don't trust my location.
not sure if you have hard or soft saddlebags? Be careful with mounts that run off the sides of the docking hardware. On my Roadking the saddlebag lids will hit the docking kit when lids in fully opened position. FYI
Be sure to remember that when you align your Heisenberg compensator assembly, that you use a bifurcated gesticulator or your horn will honk intermittently.
