So is there no problem with the hard bags hitting the way the soft bags do? I'd be pretty pissed if I opened a bag and scratched the paint because of an OEM part.

I fuked up the lid on my 97 RK, with the 4 pt. docking system.
I dont member if it was the luggage rack or the removal pass.
back rest.. But was about 6 in from the rear of the lid. Over time
it took a nice gouge out of it. So if you are not the only one to
operate the lid, beware.............Tenn

The lids of the hard bags open the other way.
