Ricor shocks and Intiminators, Lyndall Z+ pads. Should come in right around a grand, and will make a huge difference in ride and handling. If you can swing another $250, replace the front rotors with the Harley floating units.
If you're dead-set on a Stage 1, watch the forums and Ebay for a used Fatcat, get a decent air cleaner, and a TTS.

Stereo upgrade....Bike is fast enough to get plenty of speeding tickets already! More noise from different exhaust would kill out the stereo anyway, so upgrade to Hogtunes and ride the bike stock and enjoy!!
