The 19" front is incredible. I like the looks and (to me anyway) it just seems proportional to the 17" rear!
I even ordered a custom made RWD front wrap around style fender to match the radius of a 19" wheel, (most company's make and offer 16", 18" and 21" fenders but the 19's are not that common yet), that I still need to fit and have painted for my machine, but I like the looks of the 120mm tire, 19" front wheel setup so well with the stock fender, that the new fender is just sitting for now!
On the handling etc.....the bike is so nimble even at slow speeds such as turning around in the middle of a street or parking lot and even pushing it through the hill country back roads. Of course, the 17 x 6.250" rear and 200 mm tire contributes to that overall feeling too I'm sure.
I have found myself doing 15 mph faster riding through some of those hill country roads than I even do on my Dyna. The machine just feels right cruising along on those back roads at 85 mph (in all fairness, part of that is the new Road Glide itself).
Ride Safe everyone
thanks for the info...I am VERY likely going with the same 19" - 17" setup on my 2010 SG..... i couldn't agree more that the 19" just seems proportional to the 17" rear.... i try and try to get myslf to buy into the 21....but it is just too big for my taste.... they look good in pictures but every one i've seen in person just looks a little out of proportion (i know i'll tak heat for that but hey its just MY opinion)
How do you like the 19" front? I have a lot of people ask me how it handles on the baggers but I don't have a lot of feedback on that size.
i'd like some info on a 19" front wheel for a bagger too!!!
are they readily available? who offers them?
what tire size and brands do you guys offer with them??
and the BIG qustion...have you heard any rumblings about ANYONE offering a 19x 3.5 like HD has with their "Agitator"..... it's the only 19x3.5 i've ever seen...but i don't wanna go 18" rear so i have to look to another stlye......
oh...and 1 more question...will that 130 /19 HD Dunlop tire work on a 19 x 3 wheel?????

All the aftermarket wheel companies make a 19 x 3.0" but non offer a 19 x 3.5". There is not enough demand for the 19 x 3.5" blanks so I doubt you will see those any time soon. We just sold our first 130/19 Dunlop tire on a 19 x 3.0" wheel so we will see how the customer likes it. It looked good mounted on the wheel but until he gets some miles on the bike I am not sure how well it will ride.
You guys running a 21/17 combo, did you lower the front? If so, how much? I have just purchased a 21/17 combo and have read that I need to lower the front to maintain a decent ride. However, I have a Road King which has 1" longer shocks in the rear compared to the Street Glide. Wouldn't I still need to lower the front an inch if the difference in wheel radius from front to back is 1"? Very confused! Help!

Same set-up, I lowered the front around 1 1/2 using progressive springs and I used SE heavy oil. Rides better then stock IMO. The rear is no higher then the stock 16" wheel.

DocHarley,
Aren't you on a Street Glide, though? I have a Road King which has 1" taller shocks in the back. If you lowered the front 1 1/2", would I need to only lower mine 1/2"? Would 1" be too much?
