My most recent "dumb ***" moment was about a month or so ago while washing my bike. I hadn't secured my saddlebag and took a phone call. By the time I hung up the phone, the bike looked to be in order, and I just stood it up...saddlebag hits the ground and the sound sent shivers up my spine! I picked the bag up so fast, I almost dropped it again (it was waxed). I just got the bag back from the painter. My wife watched the whole thing and could only shake her head...maybe I should order up some saddlebag guards, too!
I almost let mine down without the stand out. It got about halfway over before I realized the stand wasn't down. I'm built like a gorilla so I was able to wrestle it back up without the crash guards hitting. I have learned not to do that again.
