Popping... can be an exhaust leak or tune...play with the accel and decel enrichment parameters when you get some time...

Good idea. I was reading those items in the manual. I'll need to check all my connections as these are new duals and mufflers I just put on. But, I ran the TFI w/ the new set up for two days and didn't experience the excesive poping on decel, only after the SESPT and this base map. I'll work on it.

Thanks!

Default check decel and accel settings

there is a setting for how fast the fuel turns up and down . turn your decel setting down. look for the decel column and you actually set the number higher to get a greater decel on the fuel injection when you roll off the throttle

Thanks, blackpearl. I was thinking of looking at the decel settings today and seeing the effect on that decel pop.

papifun: I'n new to all of this as I only had a piggu back fueler before, but think the SEPST is not a real auto tune. You still use your stock narror band 02s, you connect the VCI ("box") to the diagnostic port, record your riding, then download the recordings, run Smart Tune if it makes reconeded adjustments to your VEs.

This stuff is addicting for sure...

Have a good done.

Default dont click rest adaptive fuel and other box

after you have got a few runs to get true ve values to program by, you can try changing the fuel ratios in the fuel box. have you looked at any runs you have recorded yet. click on tool box top left corner, then file folder along bottom should let you open and look on graph at runs you have done. since you have been clicking reset adaptive fuel and smart tune boxes the bike will run off the sensors at 14.6. the next load try changing values in boxes for fuel ratio along top to about 70 kpa box and down to about 4000 rpm. take values down to 13.8 . leave the values at higher rpm and kpa with richer fuel ratios, dont want to lean out while cranking it up. take throttle decel up quite abit , took mine at running temp up by .100 points and my enrichment up by .50 .

to help it start a bit faster i took my cranking fuel up about 2.0 from cold to all hot boxes
by not clicking rest adaptive fuel and smart tune it will now run where ever you put it in the boxes 13.8 if you pick it. record that run and when you analyse the file you create from the run you will see the ar ratio will be at 13.8 instead of factory 14.6
bike should run a bit cooler if you look at head temps, and it should have more power since your blowing up more fuel when spark plug fires

Thanks, blackpearl. I did another recorded run this am and then did smart tune, flashed it and went out for a ride. Seems to get better, but next time, I'll take your suggestions and see how it goes.

I love looking at the recorded runs and remembering where I was with the drops in rpms, etc... Right now, most of my runs have been in the 14.6 AFR range. I'll try that AFR you suggested, record the run and then see the head temps.

One item I noticed, my CLBs were 762 across the board. I checked the origonal file and it was alot lower Maybe dealer adjusted them when they installed the base map. Not sure. Should I adjust down to the mid 600s?

Also noticed that my CIs were 103 so I changed them to 96 last night, did the recorded run today and redid the VE tables with Smart tune. I'm not close to 127 in the VE tables, so not sure if I should have kept the 96 cis in the settings.

With running in the 14.6 AFR range (+ my high CLB tables), and only doing a Smart Tune once I'm at 41 MPG. Did a 200 mile run yesterday. I'd like the balance of lower heat, power and solid MPGs @/around 40.

Man, this is fun stuff.

Have a good one and thanks again.

Default I dont run in clb mode

Im guessing you mean clb as in closed loop bias. when you dont click reset adaptive fuel and smart tune it wont run in closed loop bias, I believe, pretty sure it runs off the map valves you put in fuel ratio and calculations from ve table to establish a fuel ratio
