I am 5'6" with 28" inseam. On my 2009 Road King Classic I lowered the rear 1" with a set of 12" Progressive 440 shocks, lowered the front 1" with Progressive lowering kit, installed Corbin Close Solo seat which dropped me another 1" and moved me forward about 1-1/2", and bought a pair of Chippewa logging boots with 2" heel. Also installed Wild 1 Chubbies 517 handle bar which moved the bars up and back. Bike now fits me perfectly and I can flat foot it. I also tried 11-1/2" Progressive 440 shocks, but ride was too rough.

Good luck.

"I really like the ability to adjust the shock just by turning a **** and you only adjust the left shock."

How does that work? What links the 2 shocks?

+1 on the logger boots, they provide a good 1/2" to 3/4" height lift to those of us that have a shorter inseam. The Wild 1 Chubby 517 bars do move your grips back about 2'-3" over stock and can help with anyone with shorter sleeve lengths. I had a set on my King before changed them out for the +2 Sweepers from Khromewerks.

Not to turn this into Items For Sale, But I no longer need the WO-517's I took off my Road King for the Sweeper +2's. I'd like to get them to a someone who can use them. PM me or look for the photos in the Parts for Sale Touring Section.

The will only work on the 09 and latter bikes, due to the one peice swing. These are standard equipment on the CVO lowered bikes.

Experience the ultimate in superior ride quality with these premium Low Touring shocks. These shocks utilize a single tube, nitrogen charged design that offers enhanced compression and rebound damping when compared to the air-adjustable Original Equipment or ProfileŽ Low shocks. This provides a plush, controlled ride with reduced chance of bottoming. The compression and rebound damping is split between the two shocks - compression on the right and rebound on the left. This design balances the load of each shock; stiff spring with rebound damping on the left and soft spring with compression damping on the right. Larger chambers with 40mm-diameter pistons and 14mm rods allow these shocks to react more quickly to impacts. This keeps the tires tracking while minimizing harshness transmitted through the frame. A simple **** behind the left saddlebag allows the rider to conveniently modify the spring preload via a hydraulic adjuster.

Fits '09-later Touring models (except Trike). Does not lower '09-later FLHX, FLTRX, and FLTRSE3 models. Stock on FLHXSE.

you might want to rethink that strategy if you plan on using stock wheels and tires. because of the different aspect ratios of the tires, the 17 actually sits 1/2 lower than the 16.

heres the info:

130-90/16: diameter 25.213
130-70/17: diameter 24.165
130-70/18: diameter 25.165

this is all presupposing that you are going with stock tires. if not stock, you can do your own calculations at tire size calculator

I have a UC and I put in the back HD 12" air Shocks (like on the FLHX) . Now I am looking at Progressive 940 series which lower the bike to 12" in rear BUT has the travel of the 13" that was on the original shock. So you lose nothing in the transfer of play! These are great! Now I like to see about the front and getting a HD lowering kit just worried about the cost of the install at a dealer because I can not do it ?

Keep it simple. Lowerer mine frount and rear 1" with progressives; meancity cut down seat a little; than I cut 1-1/2" off both sides of seat pan and trimmed foam to fit [really made a big differance].
