I do not feel hardley any on my RGU.But I do have Rinehart true duals and the SEPST with the SE air cleaner. The Rinehart duals back pipe is run different than most duals and is away from my right leg pretty good. Its a lot more cooler than my 07 was!
Bought my Limited in Sept. The weather was pretty warm.I could relly feel the heat when stopped at a red light,etc-.
Since then I installed a FuelMoto kit which really helped reducing the heat.
I don't know mines pretty hot......... Its stock as a rock though
Thanks. That's EXACTLY what I'm looking for! If I end up getting one of these bikes, I will NOT spend any additional money on it to make it rideable. For me, it's either rideable right out of the box or screw it. I know that there are lots of preferences and opinions on this subject and I respect that, but this is mine.
If you have a chance to elaborate on your experiences and opinions, I would really appreciate any input you have.
I've been debating getting one of these for a few years and can actually afford it now.
If your talking stock 2011 Ultra, why would it be? Same motor, same exhaust with cat, same mufflers.
If you mean why would a 2011 run cooler than an earlier one, I don't know. All I do know is that I've read that they do. That's what this thread is about - to find out if it's true or not.
Could it be more a matter of perception or were the heat is actually coming from? If heat is coming off exhaust that's actually not a hotter engine. When they went to the cats, they could richen the fuel to air ratio slightly but correctly for improved drive-ability. This would cool engine slightly but I would think as good as they have it, it just makes a little more power and actually more heat. However you are not going to be able to truly fill the difference since the outside elements affect this way more then fuel ratio. This past summer it was about 99 degrees out and my bike felt like I was sitting on top of a grill. Rode a few week ago and it felt great.
