Doing some radio-related work inside the fairing of my 02 FLTRI. When ignition is switched on I get no fuel gauge reading, check engine light is on, low fuel light is on, and won't start. Just doing a stereo unit and speaker replacement and it's been pretty straightforward.
Have checked the low fuel module plus (under the fairing) and the fuel level sender connector (under the console) but they look ok. The shop manual says with the check engine light on I should check for a trouble code but before I go through that any ideas on what could cause the problem? Does a trouble code need to be cleared somehow before it will start?
