This is funny as I read all this.
From KS, we took a ride last July down through NM and happen to stumble across a dealer selling some new 2010 SG's @$2600 under MSRP. I thought I would take a few pics on my cell of this. We stopped at a dealer in CO (yes I was looking into purchasing at the time, not wasting the dealers time) and was trying to negotiate. He wouldn't budge on price so I proceeded to pull out my phone, showed him the pics then the floor sales person went to his boss and (long story short) yes they (Harley Davidson dealers) can come down WAY below $1k on their bikes, even during prime selling time.

Knoxville HD-West has a 2010 Street Glide, New, Scarlet Red, Cruise, ABS, Security

MSRP $19,479
Cruise $295
Security $370
ABS $845
Freight $380
Setup $325 (I think this is the number, it's close)
They've added a few minor things...fairing bra, saddlebag lid covers, black highway bar...I'm not sure what, if anything else.

Sales Manager said bring him $20k and you could take it home.
Of course, VA Sales Tax would be on you.

Between you & I...I bet if you pull out $19,750 you could get it.

Shoot me a PM if you want to talk to the guy.
I'll give you the guys name & number...and he said if you call, you'd need to tell him my name.
(I get a $50 referral fee! )

Now THAT'S a helluva discount!! These dealers must be even more desperate than I thought.

Congrats on a great deal for a great bike!

Ride safe.

You don't pay tax on the vehicle if you buy out of state. Tax gets paid to the state where it's registered.

I'm sure you could find a decent deal on a leftover 2010 right now.

tried to make a local purchase and the dealer could not find me what I wanted - only because he did not have it. He wanted full price for a new bike that was one year old. I waited for him to call me back and then gave him the news that I found two bikes meeting my need at another dealer who was interested in my business. I made the trip and got my bike. Don't give in and don't give up. It's your cash!

I am surprised just how beat down people are that think Harley MSRP is
written in stone. Sure our local stealer added 3 thousand to MSRP 15 or
20 yrs. ago and could not get enough.THE TIMES THEY ARE ACHANGING!
And 15 yrs. ago I was talking to a stealer in Richmond, Va. said he had
posted on the wall all the HD they were to receive in the next 3 mo.
Invited me up to put my name on one, so I added my name to a nice
Fat Boy along with about 6 other names. Only to find out that when the
bike was assembled ALL names would be invited in to BID on the bike.
I dont need a Harley, I wanted a Harley, now I have 2, I dont need! Tenn.
