So I gave in and bought a pair of these knock-offs. They get here and they look less than perfect. The welds are not fully smoothed down yet they chromed them. You can't really see it on the bike but they are what they are...I might be just being picky.
On to the point. I did a fullsac kit and XiED's. Stock AC.
I now understand what the fuss is about with the CFR's sound....deep and loud. I took my rineharts off and they will be for sale. Not even close on sound. Sounds like a V8. I can only imagine what it would sound like with some engine mods to really push some air. Those big 4" tips looks great back there. If I can scrounge up some funds I'm getting a real set of CFR's.
Bike ran great and had no flat spots but felt a little soft down low. I think she needs an air cleaner and more fuel. No doubt it runs great.
I'll get a pic tomorrow and maybe a quick sound clip...only gonna be iphone so don't get your hopes up.
hOW BAD ARE THE WELDS? mINE ARE COMING , REALLY WANTED The Pro-Tours from Fuel-Moto but I had a deal going but I could not get it done and those Pro's are GREAT Slip-Ons maybe the best with Rineharts next? So I will tell you what mine are like I do not like LOUD so I hope they are just DEEEEEEEPP and if they sound just like the real ones (which I have heard they do ) then that will be GREAT and if I do not like the loudness I will sell them , it seems that they do not have a ton of them any way and it will make these knock0offs more valuable ? We will see ??
They are not overly loud. On the gas? Yes, they scream. It's a good loud. Hard to explain. The reverb when getting off the gas in gear is just music. Not way up in the rpm range just in the meat of it. Slight lazy shifts with throttle are amazing sounding.
Thats exactly what I am looking for !!!!! I am stock so it may sound different ? I have heard if you do not leave it stock you may get a bottoming out at higher sppeds ? Thats on the CFR's , so I do not really know ?
I have not seen this mufflers or have any experience with them first hand, however I know that CFR is a very high quality product made in the USA while these knock offs are made in China. I have had several talks with Cary from CFR and have to agree it is a very unfortunate situation when you put your heart and soul into a product not to mention money and resources only to have a company come and introduce their Chinese mufflers which are a direct copy, then put them on the market for half the price of the authentic product. I strongly support products that are built in the USA
YES you are right $1000 is alot for anything , and trying to buy American is the way we should go, but it will not be alot of people buying these. Heck I was going to get those 4.5 Pro-Touring muffs just could not afford them not working right now , I had to buy what I could afford , simple math . I did see the copies of the Rineharts and heard them to they sound GREAT , but they were about $50 more then these so my simple math came into effect No Job - No Money- No NAME Mufflers !
To me its simply about the product, I am in no way questioning anyone's reasoning or how they choose to spend their hard earned money. I know the economy is tough right now and we all want to get the best value for our dollar. I just recommend buying american made products when possible, as you cannot expect the same level of product quality and craftmanship from a Chinese imitation in many cases
