I am running Bub 7s true duals and have noticed some heat under the seat, but I haven't bought the mid frame heat deflectors yet.

Sound is great, and I can still keep up with my fellow riders

I have true duals with a crossover piece (V&H Bagger Duals) and no clearance problem whatsoever.
I switched to true duals mainly for heat reduction on the right side and we're very pleased with the results. Another significant benefit is sound improvement.
I considered true duals with the rear pipe routed to the left but was afraid that it would run too close to my passenger's left calf. Heat was a big issue for us and I didn't want to take the risk.

The pipes where both come out the right side and one crosses under just don't look right and some look like they would come close to the ground if you took a curve hard. (IMO) Which would be the best way to go? Thanks for all the help.

I went with the V&H dresser duals which cross under the bike and the main difference was in tone and character and the heat reduction. You can here each side fire at idle so you get a true stereo sound.

Overall I would say it did get a bit louder with my Rineharts and even more if you swap cams. The dyno sheet showed a tiny loss in tq in the lower end with the duals but nothing noticible when riding , OTOH I gained a few hp/tq in the mid/upper end and that was noticible.

Clearance is like stock on right hand side and little better on the left side.Once I scraped the left hand stock heatshield and the footboard bracket bad when riding in the mountains and cornering hard 2 up with too low air pressure in the rear shocks but it never happen with the V&H shields since It's shaped a little different on the left side for better clearance and I run 50psi in the shocks since then also..lesson learned.

So...a little better clearance, look, sound, performance and no heat issues...That's a good "mod" in my book.

I noticed it with the Rinehart true duals on my '08 Ultra. Also noticed the motor vibrates more at idle and sometimes pops on decel. The exhaust note is nice, but it can be annoying in the course of a 500-mile day. I'm thinking of going back to the stock pipes.

Rinehart TD's on my 2010 SG and I like the pipe crossing under... I'm not cleaning my wifes melted boot sole off that pipe every weekend like I did when I had my 07 SG with the TD's that didnt cross under. And I have not noticed any torque drop whatsoever! I have however added Stage 1 AC, PCV, and had it Dyno tuned. As far as the cross pipe coming in contact with the pavement... if it ever does... that pipe will be the least of my concerns!!!

Same set-up on my 09 FLHX & there is a tad difference w/heat on Left leg, but nothing so extreme as to affect riding comfort. I'm also one who prefers the pipe routing out to Left side vs. under...JMO & personal preference.

Went with the V&H dresser duals on my 2011 flhtk. Love the sound of the Rineharts.
Heat is not a issue any more as was with the stock head pipe with the CAT in there.

Adding true duals to my 2010 FLHX definitely changed my power band. There is just a moment of lower power right after taking off from a dead stop. As soon as the RPM curve hits the sweat spot you feel the torque coming on strong and IMO you regain whatever time you lost during the momentary interruption.
I would likely not have noticed the change had I not ridden the bike before and after performing the modification. This is definitely not something that would deter me from doing it again. I love the look, sound and mid-range power I get from my Vance Hines pipes.

All my bikes have had True Duals and never once heard a peep from the wife about any discomfort. We both love the looks and the sound from the duals

switch to true duals on my 08RK because at the Y on the rear cylinder cracked and thought it would just crack again so to get ride of the Y went with the true duals and of course I knew the sound would be better also. But with the crack in that Y it failed inspections and didn't want to go through that either.
