I feel for you guys. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio so I know exactly what you are talking about. I remember building motorcycles (choppers) in my living room this time of year when I was younger.
I moved to California in my late 20s and have never looked back. I ride back to Cleveland every summer and I can't wait to do it this year on my new Limited.
And not to rub it in, well ok - maybe just a little, I've gone through a full tank each of the last two days and I'll probably do it again this afternoon if I can finish my chores. It's 10:30 am and about 70 deg, sunshine, and a slight breeze! I even opened all the windows in my house this morning.
My sporty hasn't been out of the garage since last Friday, shame on me for not getting out on Saturday (chores) then Sunday it rained in the morning, changed over to sleet then snowed all day! Today is the first day over the freeze mark - I still have snow in my yard and still had it on the back bumper of my truck when I got to work. This really sucks, Can't remember it ever staying this cold for this long - global cooling?
I have one for you. In the last few months I decided I wanted to buy my first Harley. Did a lot of research, reading, and asked question of you nice folks. I work overseas and had a brief trip home in December. I went to the dealer and bought a 2011 cool blue over black EG Ultra Limited. The day I picked it up the rain was coming down in sheets and only cleared up for a couple of days. I only got to ride it once. Now I'm back at work counting the days till I will be home again. It barely has 40 miles but the 40 miles were awesome.
I ride year round here in Mississippi. But it snowed last Sunday and we still have snow on the ground and ice on the roads. Longest stretch of freezing in over a decade!
