Business travel will require leaving my bike sitting in the garage for up to a couple months at a time this year. I've used fuel stabilizer products in lawn mowers and such to prevent carbs from getting gummed up. Can I use the same type of stuff in my Ultra's gas tank? Any specific brand recommended?
I have used both products, sta-bil and sea foam. I have seafoam this year. It is a good idea to add one of the additives to the gas tank. A full tank of gas is best if the bike is going to be stored for a few months, add product as directions indicate. Run or ride the bike so the product is throughout the fuel system, then you are good to go.
I like to add sea foam to the gas tank during a fill up at least once every few thousand miles, or if I get gasoline that may be suspect or a lower grade than I like.
A newer product to come out in good standing with my indy is Star Tron, it is a enzyme fuel stabilizer and prevents(by evidence)the separation of ethanol from gas as it absorbs moisture. I started using it as a stabilizer/octane support and I am very happy with the results.
