Default Painted inner fairing

Thanks to BUBBAS1 and his step by step directions, my buddy and I removed the inner fairing on his 10 Ultra Limited and my 09 Electra Glide Classic last Saturday. It took us about 2 1/2 hours. We took them to my painter and he had them done on Friday, so we reinstalled everything yesterday. I'm not the handiest guy in the world, but my buddy is, so it was not that big of a chore. Quote from my dealer was over $700 each for an installed painted fairing after a 20% discount on parts and labor. We got ours painted for $150 each, including paint.

Default You are going to hate you did that

The next thing is you are going to notice the guages need chrome trim and the hand hand controls needing to be chromed. Then you will need to install new bars, I used Wild One Bagger Bars which means you will need to install chrome cables and brake lines (they just look good). That is what happened to me with a painted inner fairing. It sure looks good though. I am glad I did it, it was just a little expensive is all, the chrome sure sets off the inner painted inner fairing.

I've got a thread about chrome rings started. HD or Kury? Want a stereo trim but the HD one is too big and covers too much paint. I'm stuck now with the upgrades.

It looks real good. I'm looking to take mine apart and paint it as well. How can I get a copy of those directions?

Best mod you can do is the painted inner fairing.

I had started taking mine apart for paint last week to go my painter. I was going to finish and take it to him tomorrow, but the weather turned warm and sunny, so I put it back togather and rode. But I did get my homemade garage door opener installed.
