Man those chpped packs look good on the Street Glide. I have thought about adding a detachable tour pack on my Street Glide. I think I will try to scrounge up a leather pack from a RK off of Ebay. They look pretty good plus I won't have to worry about matching the paint up. Cheap I know but after paying for the new bike, I have to be cheap
If you order through a discounter like Chicago HD or Zanotti's it is cheaper (these prices might be a tick off since they are several months old):
53270-06xxx - SG King Tour Pak - $540 - (xxx is paint code)
53276-04 - detachable two-up rack - $136
53848-00 - keyed to match locks - $16
51634-06 - SG King Tour Pack back rest - $168 - (any King Tour Pack backrest will fit if you changed seat to other than SG stitching)
53804-06 - 2-up docking hardware - $48
shipping will be $30-50 so you are looking in the neighborhood of $950... far cheaper than catalog. Again prices might have changed.
Thank you both for the info on this. I bookmarked the thread so I have the info. I too like the idea of being able to have lots of space to bring stuff. Looking to take some extended rides more likely in the Spring now that it is getting cold in NY.
According to the 2007 P&A catalog, page 426, the chopped tour pack has a volume of 2800 cu. inches; the regular king tour pack 3850. The chopped t.p is slightly more than 25% smaller in carrying volume than the king.
Winter would be a good time to order the tour pack cause as we know HD claims painted parts can take up to like 10-12 weeks... and since the tour pack for the SG is not the same as any tour pack on a production bike - it is anybody's guess. Could be 2 weeks, could be 2 months.

I thought about going the leather Tour Pak route on my Street Glide. They look good on the SE Ultra. And you don't have to worry about paint match or buying the backrest pad. Wish I had snagged this one when it first came out. Smooth Tour-PakÂŽ Luggage. It was $399 before the 07 models came out.

Ok guys I need a little help on this one. I am looking to order this, but I have a question on this item ---> 53848-00 - keyed to match locks
What do I do about having this match my current SG key? And do I need to order anything else for the lock part to have it work on the tour pack?? This part number does not show up in the big HD book, and my dealer tried to tell me that it would cost me over 100 bucks for all of the parts to put a lock in the tour pack?
HEY MAN, GET THE ULTRA!!!!!! It's better to have and not need than need and have to pay to get it!!!!!!! The only reason I have the SG is becasue I hated the UC colors!!!!!!!!
I just ordered a chopped tour pack from Zanotti's. It only cost $13 to have it keyed to my lock code. Just e-mailed the code to John at Zanotti's and he took care of the rest. It's a pleasure doing business with them.
