Harley Davidson motorcycles are cool. People who ride Harley Davidson are cool. Messing around and tinkering with a Harley Davidson is cool.
Ditch that Meanstreak man and join us ....
we dont have a lot of choices when it comes to dealers. theres pretty much just the one major factory supported dealer here in town, with just a couple of independent shops. all have great reputations, but limited stock of new/used bikes. While not a mechanic, I do enjoy performing what maintenance i can and dont see that as a major headache.
Michaelozz,
I didn't know you were in Ozzie land...it doesn't say where you're from. First I want to say...I feel terrible for the flood victims in your country from all the rain. I love Australia and Australians even more...so good luck!
I've been there a couple of times...Darwin, Brisbane, and Sydney to name a few. I simply love your country.
Good luck with your choice...we are here for you man!!!
hey thanks everyone! read all of this and ended up at our Harley dealers........ managed to take a new 103ci roadie for a half hour ride. enjoyed it very much... convinced me. lol. gotta have me one of them.....
Having rode Triumph's in the 60,70 and 80's, then to Bmw 90-2008 you learn the good and bad of all machines, bought a 2005 Road Glide in 2008 and have not looked at another brand yet, 2009 Electra Glide in Blue and Pewter, now a 2011 Road Glide Ultra in Merlot Sunglo with 6,000 miles. I do believe the beautifacation program will exceed the maintenance cost.
Kings can be 'Upgraded' or modified in numerous ways, can be made more sporty to sick to old man styles, I am enjoying my '03 a little more each time I get on!!
This is my second RKC, and the 09 version is a big improvement! With the internet, you can buy parts from anywhere, and most of the upgrades (other than a stage one) you can do yourself. Pipes, chrome, etc are all easy to bolt on, and the best part about that is learning about your bike. I never worked on any of my bikes before I switched to the motor co, and it's been great fun.
Sounds like you took an RKC with the new 103 engine upgrade for a ride....could you really go back to metric now? Bet not...
BTW- sorry to hear about all the flooding in OZ, hope things get back to normal for you soon.
