On my '09, prior to changing to the '10 fairing brackets to allow me to add the vented lower fairings, I bought the wind deflectors made specifically for the RoadGlide (these are the ones that mount to the top of the engine guard and fit between the inner fairing and the gas tank and look like a couple of paddles) and noticed the immediate difference in buffeting, they all but stopped it.
Tried the paddles and cannot tell if they are on are not. Still have them on but think they are useless gimmick. I put on the 10 and later brackets and didn't notice much difference either.
But, when I put the Ultra style vented lowers on it was like magic. Now the helmet is quieter, my glasses don't move, and way more enjoyable riding.
You have to put the "10" brackets on to use the vented lowers. Just like they did on the 11 RGUltra.
