Default Anyone Running American Elites??

Anyone riding on these for long enough to have some feedback on wear and ride quality? They are sure a lot less expensive then the OEM tires!

I just put them on about 2 weeks ago. I heard only good things about them. Unfortunately, there's been snow on the ground up here since Dec, so I can't help you.
There's a thread on here about them.

How do these compare to the Dunlop E3's?

not to hijack the thread, but where are you guys going to get your tires mounted? Are dealers typically OK with this? I'd feel like I'm bringing packing my lunch to bring to a restaurant.

I got them mounted at a dealer that I didn't buy my bike, tires, or wheels from. At this time of year, up north, they are happy to get any work they can.
If you don't feel comfortable, go to an Indy.

I got a set of American Elites put on a couple weeks ago. Haven't had time to log any real miles on them yet (Been potty training 2 yr old twins) so I don't have a fair evaluation of them yet.

Got them mounted at the local dealer, no problem. They understood since I ordered them online for about $265 shipped and they wanted to sell me the same tires for $431.

Any Indy will mount them. I've found they are happy to have the business.

Sounds like you got your hands full...I'll just leave it at that.
Went through 3 daughters. Can't imagine twins.

I recently put one on the rear and will do the front soon. I haven't put many miles on it but no problems. Plenty of grip. I had to have the Honda dealer mount it because the Harley dealer refused. Otherwise I'm really happy with that dealership. I bought mine from Jake Wilson for $152.00. Cycle gear here in town wanted $230.00 but I see that Dennis kirk has it for $148.00. That's for the 180/65/16 on a '09. By the way you can save a lot ordering on the internet but every place I called for mounting charged extra if I didn't buy the tire from them.

Thanks for the replies on getting them mounted - one more follow-up. Are you guys pulling the wheels off of the bike, or are you just bringing your bike in to have them mounted/balanced.

Thanks again!

I have an Indy that will mount what ever tire I bring him. Only some HD dealers will turn away business.
