Default adjusting pushrods

I installed new cams last weekend and finally got my exhaust on today. After I got my map installed i cranked it up and noticed alot of lifter noise. I have the rear cylinder at TDC right now and can move the pushrods freely and there is a little movement. Question is should I collapse the pushrods completely and start the adjustment process over or just tighten them up just a half turn or so? The lifters were brand new so there was no bleeding them down originally. These are SE tapered rods so it was originally 2.5 turns.

Well ****, if this were about solid lifters I could help. You have to collapse the lifter per manufacturer spec BUT they gotta bleed down between adjustments. I hate hydro lifters for this reason. It's so much easier with solid lifters, noisier, but easier.

What cams are you running? If it were me I'd re-adjust for the sake of not wondering and worrying. You can go a little further out than 2.5 turns and get rid of some noise.

If you didn't soak the lifters in oil the night before, you'll need to re-adjust.

Sure, just loose to start and re-adjust. I'm sure they'll be fine.

Thats all it needed. Backed em all off and started over now she purrs like a kittin. Nice and quiet too. I almost killed myself in the garage letting it run and listening to the new Pro Pipe. Had to open the door and let some -10 degree air in.
