Default Shock Question

Will a shock from a 2008 EGC fit a 2009 SG?

Yes...the '08 and earlier can be pumped to 15 psi vs the '09 which can go to 50 psi. Ride is almost identical.

I was looking at going to the touring 13in shock over my 12in for a smoother ride. Would this accomplish what I'm looking to do?

Yes-I went to an E-glide shock on my '11 SG and it made a huge difference. I used a shock off an '09 and later E-glide which was designed to go with the new frame/suspension set-up of the '09 & later bikes. Others say the pre-'09 shocks ride softer yet, however I don't know if that degrades the handling any on the newer bikes.

Can anyone help to answer this before I jump on it?

Yes t does. My 2000 shocks didn't need air dor one-up ridng. (They wore out at 75,000 miles.) The replacement '09 are softer which is why I'm gettng an air pump soon.

Yes it will. I replaced my 2011 shocks with custom shocks from my 2003 Road King and they slipped right on. There is no new frame issues regarding using earlier rear shocks, or later shocks on the earlier bikes.
