Default Home made Moto Lights

Like the Moto Lights, but the cost was hard to justify.
I had a set of Kuryakyn large silver bullets turn signels that I had removed from my Road King after the LED's started to burn out. I decided to make my own.
I purchased halogen wiring harness from H21-625 and clear lenses #H21-375 from Dennis Kirk. I picked up the 35 watt bulbs from a home improvment store. I used aliminum fender spacers for my base mount as the bolt spacing is the same as the brake caliber.
I drilled the light mounting hole through the center of the spacer. I use a 1" thick spacer so I neede to drill a hole through the center of a longer bolt for running the wires out, but if you use a thinner spacer you mabe able to use the bolts that come with the lights.
I picked up stainless steel bonded sealing washers and thin nuts from Fastenal and longer chrome metric socket bolts to replace the caliber bolts the bolts need to be your spacer thickness longer then the stock ones. I found them at a local hardware store that had grade 8 chrome one, but you should be able to find them on line at the bolt depot.
I ran the wires through the light housing a bonded washer (rubber side towards housing),2 thin nuts, bonded washer (rubber side towards spacer), and then throught the hollow bolt that I placed in the spacer. snuged eveything up.
I then added longer wires that would reach into my fairing and covered then in black heat shrink tubing, and fashened the light assemblies to the forks and brake calibers.
I connected one wire from each light to my acc. switch that is on my dash and the other two wires to a ground.
After checking that the lights worked I adjusted the angle of the lights and tighten the thin nuts againest the washers.

Thanks!
They work great and the best thing is that the movement of the front shocks on the road surface causes the light to attract the attention of the cage drivers next to me. I have not had one pull into my lane since putting these on. I have seen a few start to come over only to pull back into their lane.
I put a set on my daughters bike also and she reports the same for her as well.
Even if these did not help me see better at night (they do) they are worth every penny for that alone.

Nice! Just what my 09 RG needs to avoid meeting an early end like my 2000RG did. Thanks for sharing your project with us!
