I am shopping for some slip ons and I took a gander at the Rhinehart site and the price was reasonable. I saw this decalimer and wanted the forums take on this. Being from California can I still put them on. Also, Any other suggestions on a good slip on, I want a little more roar but not ridiculously loud.

Im running one on my 10 sg with a gutted cat. Not really all that loud if thats what your worried about. Might be selling my setup with 300 miles on it to go with v&h big radius.
Thanks for the response. I am not worried about how loud they are, but when I went to the Rinehart site, I saw that disclaimer I posted above and since I live in California I was wondering if it would be a problem.
Mostly a revenue generator in CA. CHP, Orange County and cities like Malibu regularly pull over bikes by claiming they sound too loud. This gives them probable cause under CA law to check for the CA required EPA stamp. If the muffler doesn't have it, then they slap a huge fine on it - even out of state bikes.
Was $297 in Malibu for my friend two years ago. He said he passed a guy in a baseball cap and swim trunks shooting what he thought was a radar gun at every bike entering town. About a 1/2 mile further on, a cop standing in the street was waving bikes over to the curb for inspections - he said they were waving every single bike to the curb and doubted they were measuring sound at all. He asked the cop to see proof that his bike was loud, and the cop said to ask for proof when he went to court. Abate has a list of areas using this type of **** tactic.
FWIW, the muffler is indeed an emission control by EPA and CARB regs. It controls sound emissions.
