Default Engine light/rough idle

Hey Guys
I have an 06 Street Glide. (EFI) I was out riding tonight and the idle started to get rough. The engine light would go on and off. When I would stop at a light there were afew times I thought it was going to kill. Other times while I was at a stop the engine would jump up to close to 3000 rpms. Most of the time it would just jump up to 1200 to 1500. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I did post this under the help section, but no replies, so I figured I would try here.

Try looking up the error codes, if any. There should be a post under ECM/tune, etc. It may tell u something there...

How do I find the error code?

Check the DIY part of forum under engine diagnostic and scroll through there.

I am not very good when it comes to motors. I just took the plugs out. They are really black. I am guessing that is a fouled plug?

fferic

I had the same thing happen to my 06 streetglide with about 800 miles on it. The dealer changed the IAC (Idle air control) and the ECM (electronic control module) and the bike has run perfect since. It now has 4000 miles on it.

Hope this helps

Frank
