My wife bought me my first Harley when I turned 55 a FXDL. I couldn't understand why anyone would want a bagger. A few miles on the Low Rider I saw the light. Last fall I bought an 06 Ultra and never looked back.
35 here with an 07 SG. Don't feel old, just feel smart. Why have a "cool" uncomfortable bike, who ya riding the bike for anyway? If you want a Harley the Glides are where its at!
Im only 36 years old, loved all my harleys!!! I always chopped and raked, put apes on all my bikes. Road my buddies classic this summer and fell in love with the ride. I always laughed at the guys on the cruisers. Grampa bike lol. After I road his bike I sold my dyna wideglide, and ordered an 07 street glide. I never thought riding could be so fun. I feel like im not the cool guy any more. Even some of my friends bug me now.( Because I would never get one of those till I was old)I think once you ride a cruiser and do any amount of long distance riding youll never go back. I guess I trying to convince myself its ok to be wrong and besides its still a HARLEY!!!!
I'll be 35 in the spring and my first Harley is this one you're looking at in my sig. At 29 years old, I bought one of the lowest priced models which I felt had the most to offer for the money. Man, I'm glad I got into a touring bike right away. I've put more miles on this bike [over 48,000] than I ever would have dreamed of on a stripped down cruiser.
Hey Guys-
I'm new to the Harley world, four Honda's in the last three years. It didn't take me too long to know that a bagger is the way to go. First try at one was earlier this year, a Honda Valkyrie Interstate. Low speed handling was a BIT@H and the power was enough to lift the wheel off of the ground on that 850# beast. No need to say anymore, I'm Gliding and couldn't be happier......and I'm only 27............but I do have a little bald spot so that makes it o.k. I guess.
Well I'm 51 and on my second Dyna which I love, but after riding the Street Glide last summer I'm planning on picking one up next spring . I've reached a point where being comfortable is more important than being cool.
