I just struck a deal on an 11 Street Glide with Power Pak and cruise. I am trading in my 09 Street Glide with cruise only. The only thing I cared about was what my trade difference was. I am trading for 3k difference. The way I looked at it I don't have ABS, Security or the 103 on my bike right now. That is a 2k package. So basically I am paying 1k extra to have a brand new bike with a new warranty. Plus I get to keep my V&H pipes that are on my 09 and my backrest since I didn't even tell them I had them on my bike anyway. The deal was done over the phone. I'm not sure if that is the best deal I could have gotten but I am satisfied with it. Does that sound fair?

I bought mine from Reimans H-D in Kewanee, IL. They sell at MSRP... I have done a lot of business with them over the years so when I bought my 10 SG, he sold it to me at MSRP, and didnt charge me the extra for cruise or security! Out the door was roughly $21,500. I would never pay more than MSRP for anything these days!

That's an amazing deal. You basically broke even trading an '09 SG for an '11 SG with the Power Pak. That sounds more than fair. Wow.

When I was shopping for a new 09 Ultra classic, I discovered that a dealer in Harrisburg Pa was offering $2K of MSRP for the UC and one in NYC was also. I called both dealers to make sure it was true, and both said it was. So I asked them if they had an 09 with ABS and the security system in any color other than vivid black. Both dealers said they did not have any 09's left with ABS. So I went to my local dealer and told them that I could get $2K off MSRP on an UC, (which was true) but wanted to buy local and could they match the offer?

They came up with $1500 off MSRP, plus a $500 gift card, which saved me from driving 400-600 miles towing a trailer, especially NYC, so I was happy. So now I know that my dealer will bargain, and I got a pretty good price on trade in also. I was happy.

Yes, my credit union won't finance a bike that isn't even here yet (no VIN etc..). Dealer called back after checking availability on 2011 special edition bikes and said they will still roll them out upon request, just pick the month I want it. I chose May and he called to confirm and they told him okay, 3rd week of May it is.

I'm in SE Wisconsin. I bought a new '10 Ultra for $19,500 in Sept '10. The bike was $22K & change MSRP. Around here you can't throw a stick and not hit an HD dealer so the dealers get pretty competitive with each other. My '10 was a left over after the '11s came out and this dealer had 3 '10 Ultras on the floor and a warehouse full of '11s.

If they can do this type of deal in September, they can do it anytime. I will say that it took a few visits to the dealer to do this, but eventually they knew they had a '10 they had to move and I was interested in a "deal" more than a '10 vs an '11. It's a black and silver two tone Ultra, ABS, security.

If you're paying over MSRP...you're paying too much. $1K - $2K under MSRP would be fair about this time of year.

Good luck

Know this is an old thread but I have just worked a deal with a very nice dealer in Salem Oregon. 2500 off MSRP + 185 for fees on a 2014 SG special. We also get 25% off on parts and clothing for a month.
