Check your AVC (Auto Volume Control) setting in the menu function of the Harmon Kardon Radio system. It should be set to 3 bars. If it IS set to 3 bars, try reducing the AVC to 2, then 1, then 0 and see if that makes any difference.
My setup works fine on 3 bars, which is the HogTunes recommended setting. Let us know how you go.
what HogTunes speaker kit to buy to upgrade my 05 Ultra with all factory stuff,
Maybe this is a question for Pez, but for my 2005 Ultra Classic, the "big ultra kit" comes with 2 ohm speakers, and NCA 40.4 amp but my HD deck uses 6 ohm speakers? [2005< =6ohm] does this kit allow the head unit to use the amp to run the new [4] speakers at 2 ohms? or does Pez make a <2005 kit with the 914.2 112.2 speakers for this application?
and if the 2 ohm speakers work, then maybe i should buy the 6 speaker kit instead, 10.00 cheaper, plus i get 2 extra speakers, mounting brackets for lowers etc etc that i could install or not and keep for later install?

There is a window on the HOGTUNES website in the section 1998-2005 models that has info on amp configuration. My company blocks some info on websites and in this case all I see is a blank window.
Have a look or email PEZ at info@hogtunes.com to answer your query if no one else can assist.
hi V2evo96 i spent a lot of time in HogTunes website, and that is were i got the info for the question, i guess i will e mail Pez,
But basically 2005> is 6 ohms, and 2006 > is 2 ohm, but the big ultra kit that fits 1998-2011 but contains 2 ohm speakers...so does the new amp power the 4 new 2 ohm speakers, and the 98-05 head unit is ok to power the amp?
ultra classic-- good point -- on current models the amp powers the front fairing, lower speakers and tweeter pod; and the inbuilt bike radio amp continues to power the rear speakers.
However the newer models are 2 ohm front and rear.
I think you would be OK but best to send a mail to PEZ to ensure accuracy. He should get back to you asap-- always has when I've had a question.
I see your in Ontario (as PEZ is) -- maybe give him a ring?

Yes, HT's new four-channel amp drives the two fairing speakers and two rear speakers with 2 ohm impedance. The amp doesn't care that the head unit in the '05 and older models is an 8 ohm impedance system.
