Anyone have this on their street glide? I need a narrow seat that will lower me...i sent the stock seat to mean city cycles but got it back and it's still too wide.
The speed cradle isn't the only lowered seat option. A local dealer had a Street Glide with stock suspension and a lower aftermarket seat. I wish I asked for the name or model because I'm not flat footed on a stock Street Glide but I was on this one.
One thing I'm sure of is that it wasn't a speed cradle. It didn't have the sculpted center line of the speed cradle. It was nearly as wide as stock but thinner. So there's probably a trade off in comfort especially on longer rides.
Look at the seat on my bike. It is a kit installed from Fatbaggers. It drops u a full three inches lower with out any adjustment to the suspension. Same ride and lower. It is called a 3" drop seat kit. The seat is actually made by Danny Gray and is distributed by Fatbaggers. They have two or three seat options available for that kit. Now u do move back a little further on ur bike, but it is deffinatly more narrow than yours. This is not a cheap solution, but it works. If you can work on your bike the kit is not really hard to install. It does relocate the battery and fuse box.
I have the Speed Cradle reach seat on my RKC and love it. It isn't as cushy as the original two up seat, but I find the stiffer foam of the Cradle holds up better on a really long day's ride. It sits me lower in the frame, and moved me closer to the bars. Couldn't have picked a better seat. I researched a lot of different reach solo seats before deciding on this one, taking into account: customer feedback, forum and other online reviews, materials, and price. In the end this became the logical choice for me. I am very happy I chose this seat.
I don't have the speed cradle, but the DG Big Seat with rider backrest. Lowered me 2" and back 1". It looks, feels and rides great, I couldn't be happier. DG's a good product, you will be happy.
