Default Exhaust question

I do believe I finally found somone interested in buying my Rinehart Exhaust. I am using the money from that to buy my new exhaust, my question. Can the bike sit without exhaust on it for a week or so? Or should I plug the exhaust ports with a rag?

I live in townhouse, and I am not going to remove the exhaust until I know for sure the guy is coming over to pick it up. If I remove it at my house, I cannot start the bike or ride it approx 2 miles down the road to my inlaws garage is there? That would cause damage to the motor?

Sorry, just not sure. Making sure.

Stick a rag in them. You wouldn't want a rat making a nest in there would you?

Before stuffing a rag in there, ya might consider spraying some WD40 in there.
