Take 'em to the shoe shine guy once a year. He works them over really good; in fact so good I double his $5 fee and tell him I'll see him again next year.
Keep the crud knocked off and give a coating of mink oil every few months. I want my leather to last because I can't find these boots any more. I need to get them resoled soon.
Chippewa steel toe loggers boots....
I have tried many others over the past 35 years, and these fit my
foot the best. Comfortable and sturdy, can be worn all day riding
or all day walking....
Made in the USA, and less than $ 200.....Have had this pair for 8 years
and over 100k miles !!!
A couple times a year I'll give them a coat of Doc Baileys.....
Ya gotta clean and protect your leather. the flexibility of leather spreads the stress produced by wearing boots across not only the leather but the stitching and the soles. If the leather dries out that stress is not distributed and you threaten the integrity of the boot.
Saddle soap them up occasionally and condition them. The once a year to the shoe shine guy is a great idea
