Yes, you'll love the Road King Classic. I just rented a Heritage in Florida last month. After 4 hours I took it back to the dealer and said, "have you got a touring class bike available"? Luckily he did.

Before you buy, you may want to consider selling your bike outright. If you trade it in, the dealer will have his way with you!! Then you'll resent that great new RKC because it cost so much.

My $0.02

See what the dealer would give you first on a trade and if you're not happy with the deal then try to sell your's outright taking the dealer's profit.

If you can sell it then go and offer the dealer a cash deal..or dirve to another dealer w/in a day's drive and pay cash for what you want for the best deal you can get..

Or if $ is not an issue, as the other's have said just go trade and get what you want.

They don't call it "King" for nothing.

Ex - softail here (06FXST) - the ride is so much better on a RK - you will not regret it.

Thanks for all the good advice. I am 98% of the way there. Tomorrow when the dealer opens I will start the mating dance. I will let you know if I am successful.

RK is one of the most comfortable bikes on the road. Imagine yourself in your favorite recliner going down the road at 60+ all day long!

Just got this last week: 2010 Police Road King with 2011 RKC Paint Kit.. This is by far one of the nicest bikes I've ever owned or ridden. And it's not new bike love. I'm very objective about this stuff. I have nine motorcycles in the garage including a 2007 CVO Springer and 2011 Softtail Deluxe. The RK is far more comfortable and rides better than either of these. The 103 pulls great, but I'm going to mod it.
Just got back the Deluxe (turned into 103) with the works on the engine - dyno is 102 at rear wheel. Smokin' fast! Will do same to RK, which offers are better all around ride for me. I'm 5-9, 200 pounds.

Thanks for the advice everyone. As of this morning, I own it. I was vascilating but the dealer is top notch and gave me a great deal. I will pay for it this weekend. The only problem is it is likely going to be six weeks before the weather is good enough to ride. The good news is it will likely take that long to get the mods I want on it.

Hopefully the buyer's remorse will not sink in before I have a chance to fire it up! I love to ride nice machinery but I am cheap and hate writing the check.

What scares me is I like the Heritage and am scared I will spend a bucket of money on the RK and not like it. This is in spite of the fact all the research I have done indicates I should love it. Please, no advise to keep the Heritage and get the RK, I don't have the space nor am I enclined to have that much money tied up in toys.

Someone talk some sense into me.
Do it! You won't regret it. Traded in my 09 Super Glide Custom...loved that bike for an 011 RKC. What a difference. I can stare at that bike 24 hours a day, maybe even ride it every now and then
