The fitment page on the Dunlop website recommends 408F/407 or as an option the American Elite's for my 09' FLHX. I saw no Elite 3's.
For those who have the American Elite's how do you like them compared to the stock 408F/407's

I am ordering the American Elites. New compound, good tread design, will last longer. I am haapy with the milage I have so far on my 407/408's. Much better milage than the tires I put on my '06 wideglide. Could only get ,if lucky, 7500 miles. I have 9400 on my stock ultra tires now and good milage left on them still.

I have over 11,000 miles on mine, funny thing is the front is going faster than the rear; Never seen that in my 30 years of riding.

I noticed the same thing. I haven't measured the tread, but it sure looks like the front is wearing down faster than the rear. I have over 11K miles on my 2010 RK. The back tire looks like it will go another 8 to 10K.

Lol, could it be that after 30 year of riding we spend more time on the brake than the gas, instead of all the time on the gas and never the brake like we did when we were gonna live forever?

The D408 front only has 5/32 new, I've still got 3/32 at 19500 miles, should be good for another 10k. I already replaced the rear at 15200.

I've been getting about 15k out of the front and rear D407/408, but I've been changing them a little early. I'm gonna push them a little further this time. The rear is at about 16k and the front is at 11k. Still got about 3/32 on the rear. Can't remember on the front, but it should be good for at least another 5k.

I've been thinking about the American Elite tires. They're a lot cheaper than D407/408 tires. I have the tire and wheel service plan and they only cover OEM tires. I'd like to try the AE tires, but will probably stick with 407/408.

The American Elite tires haven't been around very long so it may be hard to get a good review yet.
