Default engine lighting / LED's

There are very few cars/trucks I have seen that have “ground effects” lighting that I thought looked good. That didn’t look cheap or cheesy. I never thought I’d even consider putting LED lighting on my scooter, but last Sunday night riding back home from a day trip, a friend turned his on while we traveled the Interstate back to town. His Street Glide’s engine & tranny lit up blue. It looked good, but, what I noticed most was how much it added to his overall visibility.
I guess I have 3 questions I’d like help with opinions or answers to:
1. Thumbs up or thumbs down mod?
2. Have you either had this done to your bike or done it yourself?
3. If someone else did the mod, what type LED’s and how much $ ; If you did it yourself what type LED’s , how much $ and time to install?
I new around here, and maybe I didn’t search the right forum. If this has been beat to death, or if there is a link you can provide me that answers the above, thanks in advance.

I have them on mine. I have multi colored because depending on where you are different colors can be illegal. I love the 'cloud of light' effect at night and added visibility. Some guys don;t like them, I was one but after installing them and having them for a year, I like em! I bought a kit, all plug and play, from Joe Florida on eBay. I have a video of the finished lights on youtube.

+1 on more visibility and it holds true for parking at night during events too. Like many I took off all of the reflectors and the LEDs help in that regard.

I got a very minimal set on EBay from FloridaJoe or JoeFlorida, something like that. Very good quality stuff and if I remember right it was about $30.
