I got a great rear flap from Capt. Itch and Isabel. I also added a small flap I just made out of some old rubber sheeting (car floor mat) to go under the frame in front of the rear wheel. Highway Patrol moto cops in various states determined that the majority of flats they got were due to the front tire hitting debries and throw it into the rear tire which is punctured. Adding this little flap cut out almost all of their flats. As many miles as they ride a year, and on the surfaces they sometime run, I figured if it worked for them it'd work for me too.
Yes, this is real leather. Looks good and works good. I think my leather guy charged me $25 to make it.
Do you have a HD oil cooler and if so, how does it look? Does the fringe keep the rocks off it? I would think if the fringe is of a heavy enough leather, then it should work.
Hey Paul did that rear mud flap help you on the huge dust problem that we get on the daily driving on the paved roads? I just find it is a pain to clean that rear fender around the hard bags. Thinking on getting one and that looks good on the classic. mike
Honestly It cuts down debris very little, More for looks.
From everyones comments the front one looks like it helps alot more
