Noticed the paint was gone on my HD oil cooler fins and a several small gravels stuck in the fins. Wondering if a mudflap wouldn't help protect it. Anybody done this??
I haven't done it but I was wondering about the same thing. I don't know that it would look the best but I am thinking that protecting the oil cooler might be smart. I live on gravel road so the cooler takes some abuse like you said.
Hey Paul did that rear mud flap help you on the huge dust problem that we get on the daily driving on the paved roads? I just find it is a pain to clean that rear fender around the hard bags. Thinking on getting one and that looks good on the classic. mike

i've seen a piece of aluminum screen put behind the chrome cover to protect the fins on the HD cooler on an 03 Ultra
I had a front mudflap made to match my rear mudflap, complete with fringe! Yes, it does help keep everything behind it cleaner. I know, I know, this thread is useless without pictures. I'll have to see if I can get one.
I want to watch this thread, I was going to post a question on mud flaps as well. Seeing that I'm just being able to start riding my new to me glide, I am wondering if a rear flap helps keep things clean,
There is still some snow melt running across the roads, and the rear of the bike gets so much spray, and was hoping a mud flap will reduce the dirt.
