Default Throttle body size

I was wondering if there is anyone with a fuel moto 107 kit and has had a port and polish job, also installed a 58 mm throttle body if it was worth the extra for the 58 or is the stock 50 good enough or what kind of gains can be expected

Thanks

The stock will work ok, but a bigger TB will net more HP.

Any idea as to how much increase in HP? The throttle body is around $400 and then injectors for another $125 plus a tune and all of a sudden we are talking maybe $700. If its for a 2 HP gain then it is probably not worth it IMO.
Is there a benefit in going with high-flow injectors in the stock 50MM throttle body on a 107 build?

I think it will gain alot more than 2 Hp, but how much more I don't know. The money sure does add up fast when you go for more Hp. I used 5.3 injectors on my 50MM TB and it works good for me.

The 106/107 is the borderline on use of stock parts such as injectors and tb.
I know for a fact(dynograph) showed that my 106 ran out of breath at 3800 rpm with the stock tb. Once a 58 mm tb was installed the hp keeps climbing to the rev limit and it gets to 100 lbs/tq at 2300 and stays over 100 lbs/tq until 5300 rpms.
A 58mm tb for this size motor might be overkill, but a port job on the stock tb is 200 bucksish. Then 2 weeks at least for shipping each way. Then how long is it in the shop before someone gets to work on it.
I didn't want to wait a month so I bought a new one.
I cam honestly say that my bike has great cruising manners in the highway but at 70mph and you kick it down into 4th gear and roll on the grip those mild manners are gone and I have to hold on real tight. The front end even gets less positive as the tire gets weight removed.
I freakin LOVE my bike the way it is now. Never will I leave a bike stock again.
Next time I'm getting an orca motor. They are V-twins built for boost but I think 2 coffee can sized pistons will do just fine.
Hehehe

I went right to the source (Jamie) and asked. His experience is that the stock 50mm TB and injectors are up to the task of his 107"/level B heads/cams with the stock TB ported/honed. HPI will sell you their 54mm TB service and tell you that it will work great but you better have your heads set up right otherwise they won't flow enough to take advantage of the 54mm set-up. I'm going with the port/hone later this summer along with a heavy breather but it will be a couple months before I have anything to report...
