Oh my god. I thought I was all set to pull the trigger on the Bub 7 2into1, but now that I see the Power Duals with the 4" Rineharts...gah! Decisions, decisions!

How do you think the crossover would help them compare to a full 2into1?

I've been building hot-rods for many years and have always been a fan of the "X/cross pipe" for torque. The only reason I recommended the Power Duals to the OP is becuase he already has a set of premium aftermarket performance muffler that would be more suited to the V&H Power Duals pipe (for the reasons stated above). Otherwise... "take your pick"
Thanks to all for the info. Very informative. Certainly advantages to both.

Both pipes work very well for their intended applications, however there are actually quite a few differences between them.

Collector: The Jackpot 2/1/2 uses a hand built and tig welded true merge collector, the V&H Power Duals use a stamped collector from two pieces of sheet metal

Material: The V&H pipe is constructed from mild steel, the Jackpot 2/1/2 is built from aircraft grade stainless steel

Warranty: The Jackpot pipe has a lifetime warranty, the V&H pipe has a 90 day warranty

O2 Bungs: The Jackpot pipe has both 12mm and 18mm bungs which cover all O2 sensor and tuning platforms. The V&H has either 12mm or 18mm depending on the year of the bike you order the pipe for

Jackpot Collector

V&H Collector

We also now offer an optional proprietary two process internal/external HTC ceramic coating which offers additional heat reduction

So there you have it from Jamie at FM. "Score" to the Jackpot header for the hand-made aircraft grade stainless material and the lifetime warranty. The o2 sensor flexibility is also a plus (moot point for my PCV since the o2 sensors are discarded). For $99 (seen that price on another post from Jamie), the ceramic coating would be worth it. I usually pay much more for that treatment on automotive engine headers. However, I have to say... when I switched from the Moco "cat-in-header" to the Power Duals, the heat issue from the header pipe went away without the ceramic coating treatment.

The 2 into 1 set-up will undoubtably maximize the torque/performance of your motor. However, if your looking for an excuse to go with duals and still maintain maximum torque/performance... The Jackpot header with Jackpot Dyno Tuned mufflers (from Fuelmoto), or the V&H Power Duals with whatever muffler you prefer (4" Rinharts are great!) would serve you very well also. You not going to loose much if anything to the 2 into 1 set-up on a stage 1 motor. These dual headers with "power chambers" are engineered to produce maximum torque.

Some say that going to a catless header made a great difference, some say that going to catless header made little or no difference in the heat given off by the header pipe. I've read about as much on this forum of one opinion as the other. I just know that as hot as my bike gets in stop and go traffic, I would pay far more that $99 to help cool it off. After last summer I would ten times rather go to the dentist than drive through any major city.

Allen,
Without doubt loosing the Moco header with cat and putting on the Power Dual header reduced my heat significantly. However, I live and ride in Alaska with highs that are in the low to mid 70's at best in the summer. I'm certain that if I lived in the south, Florida/Texas/Arizona... I'd pay the extra $99 for the ceramic coating too, cause I hate the dentist!!

OK...here's my story:

My Harley: 2010 CVO Streetglide (110")

Last year, originally planned and ordered Fullsac headpipe, 1.75" baffles for stock mufflers and TTS Mastertune.
At the last minute, changed my mind and ordered and installed the Vance and Hines Power duals with 1.75 baffles and TTS Mastertune...decided to go with Vance and Hines headers as I have always used Vance and Hines in the past and was happy with them. However I did not like them or the sound I was getting from this package. With respect to the Vance and Hines headers, I could not get over 3 things:

1) Did not like the "crossbone" look...to me it interfered with the smooth look/ flow of the pipes. Some like it, some don't and that's OK!

2) The cossbone heat shield...good luck putting that on without scratching the other heatshields for the pipes...over time those scratches will rust.

3) The location of the fuel sensor for the rear pipe...up on the rear pipe where you can see it and then have to have a "funky" routing with a cheap hose clamp from Vance and Hines for the wire back to the ECM module in your side pannel.

The Vance and Hines header works but for the money, personally, I think Vance and Hines could/should have done better.

Fast forward to today...ordered Fuel Moto ceramic 2/1/2 headpipe and 4" Rinehart mufflers...hopefully this will look and sound great (remember..."looks" and "sounds" very subjective)...YMMV!!

Good luck in your "quest" for the right combo!

damm... i just ordered my V&H power duals with the 12mm bungs so i can put stock O2 sensors and possibly go with the new PV (havent decided yet)... Can i install 18mm O2 sensors on my Power Duals with some kind of adapter on my 12mm bungs when i plan to go with Autotune WB option ? will the linger 18mm O2 sensors interfere with the frame since 2010 + the o2 sensor bungs are located just before or the CAT... ( or after CAT.. not sure)

Papifun,
There are adapters that will allow you run the 18mm o2 sensors into the 12mm bung on that pipe. Sorry though, I don't have a source to shoot you to buy them. Try Fuelmoto or V&H. Also... not sure about any clearance issues on that set-up?
