I live in south eastern Massachusetts, so there are quite a few strong signals. I use a Tune Trapper and it works well in the area. I installed it with a Y-adapter and have it connected to the stock cable too so if I travel I can attach the whip for better reception.
So you guys that are using the hidden antenna's in the fairing, you havent noticed a decline in reception? I'm considering the option but dont want to reduce my already "challenged" reception.
I got a power antenna from Advance Auto ($22) and mounted it on the inside of my fairing - real easy to connect power. The reception is slightly better than the stock one and MUCH better looking.
