Fumes, Fumes and more Fumes!

I was using more oil than that but my worst odor in the end was on decel.
If you have a power commander or something like that check your throttle position. Most dyno tunes only run wide open throttle. Your throttle position could be off at idle??
Hopefully you find the issue, it took me a long time to figure it out.

This might be way off track here.I had a yamaha roadstar with a hoppe fairing on and never had any issues with it.Then i decided to add the lower fairing wind deflectors that mount under the sides.First trip out my wife and i almost passed out from the exhaust it made us really sick.Spent the next 15 min. taking them off at a gas station and never smelled it again.

I could smell it too at 65 mph. To me it smelled like gas but to them it smelled like gas and oil burning.
Turned out my valve guide seals were bad. Not bad enough to make the bike smoke but bad enough to cause the odor. I did a big bore kit with new heads and problem solved.
I have heard that 06 was a bad year for valve guide seals???
Are you using any oil?
It sounds like you had the exhaust smell under constant throttle, Mine only smells on decel but the valve guides are something to consider. I use about 1/4 QT every 1-2 thousand miles. Don't know if that is excessive.

That oil usage and smell on decel points to valve guide seals leaking caused by blow by. If you want to visibly see it get on a hwy and with traffic following you take an exit ramp and decel down the ramp.
If you look back you will see a whitish colored smoke trail behind your bike, visible from the headlights following you. I know this cuz it's happened to me.
